Informatin for new user account
When you request new account in Idekerlab, you will get three accounts – Linux account, Window account and a Lab wiki account
- . You should be able to login to any Linux computer in the lab.
- . Your data in your Linux home directory will be backed up daily.
- . When you use Windows Server, you should save all your data in your network disk (Z:), which is mounted to the home directory of your Linux account. This will make sure your data will be backed up daily.
.If you do not have network disk (Z:) yet, you can add one yourself. My computer-->tools--> map network driver --> Drive Z:, Folder:\\beaujolais.ucsd.edu or click browser button and pick beaujolais, you chould choose your loginID under beaujolais
- If you need to login to your account outside UCSD, the gateway to Idekerlab is “grenache.ucsd.edu”.
- . The name of Windows server is “concord.ucsd.edu”
