1. Choose a poster width and make sure the image document is set to that width. (36in or 42in) You may need to rotate your document to fit.
2. Make sure there are no "gradient" objects in the image, or the poster may not print correctly.
3. Convert the image to postscript (.ps) format. This is done by File->Print and select Adobe Postscript from the printer list. Make sure you can choose to save the image as the proper size (ex. 48x36in). On some computers, the drivers only allow standard paper sizes! In this case, you should do the conversion on concord.
4. Scp the document to the printing server: bi40gh@sdcc12.ucsd.edu , (get the password from Gregory Hannum)
5. SSH to the server.
6. Do a test print to cplot1_np or cplot1_np42: ex. lpr -P cplot1_np mydoc.ps
7. Check the idekerlab printing account email for a preview of the image and costs: idekerlab@gmail.com , (same password)
It can also be seen at the respective link: http://ieng9.ucsd.edu/~lp/cplot1_np/ or http://ieng9.ucsd.edu/~lp/cplot1_np42/
8. Make sure the preview looks good!
9. Choose a paper type from this website: http://acs.ucsd.edu/print/cplot.shtml#cost Semigloss is recommended.
10. Determine the printer name from the paper type and document size. (ex. cplot1_sg36)
11. Send the document to the appropriate printer. ex. lpr -P cplot1_sg36 mydoc.ps
12. Delete the image file from the printing server! If you leave it there, the account will be charged a storage fee.
13. Progress can be checked at the official queue: https://sdacs.ucsd.edu/accttools-cgi-bin/rmprint.cgi
14. Once it is finished, pick up the poster at APM 1426, 8AM-4:30P. You just need to tell them the account name (bi40gh)
